AI Face Shape Test · Oval / Round / Square / Heart / Long

Your face shape determines which haircuts, fringes, earrings, and glasses frames work best for you. Looksona uses facial-landmark geometry to identify the five base face shapes automatically and pairs each with hairstyle direction.

The five base face shapes

Oval: balanced ratio, the easiest to flatter. Round: low width-to-height ratio, soft contour. Square: prominent jawline, strong angles. Heart: wide forehead, narrow chin. Long: tall ratio, length over width.

There's no "best" face shape — every shape has hairstyles that suit it. Looksona's goal isn't to grade your face; it's to tell you which haircuts your face shape is most likely to amplify.

How Looksona detects face shape

We estimate face_width / face_height / jaw_width / forehead_width ratios from facial landmarks, then apply a stable rule set. Confidence-thresholded: when the signal is weak we return "unknown" rather than guess.

FAQ

Does it need a front-facing photo?

Yes. Side-on or upward-tilted shots distort the ratios.

Will my face shape change if I gain or lose weight?

The underlying bone structure doesn't change, but cheek fullness does — so weight shifts "which class you read as" without changing the bone foundation.

Can I run face shape and color analysis at once?

Yes. The standard report covers face shape + color + hair + makeup + outfit in one upload.

Can a fringe really change my face shape?

It can't change the bone structure, but it visually changes the width-to-height ratio — which is the lowest-cost face shape "hack" you can pull off.

Does a round face have to wear long hair?

Not at all. A clavicle-length cut, curtain bangs, or layered long hair can all elongate the visual ratio.
